I love Berlioz! Especially Nuits déte. I have the recordings by Eleanor Steber, Susanne Danco, Regine Crespin and Janet Baker (the first one i heard of this song cycle) and love to them all.

Romeo et Juliette is very beautiful too.

Un Chien Andalou by Luis Bunuel. TWO pianos with rotten donkeys. Luis Bunuel wrote a small part (a scene with a severed hand) of Beast With Five Fingers, but he is not credited. A piano (and a severed hand) can also be seen in Bunuels The Exterminating Angel from 1962.

I have plenty of Camden lp:s, especially with Koussevitsky, Monteux, and Stokowski. Some lp:s have the real names of the performers, some have not. Great hidden treasures from the 78 rpm era.

Ravel, As you can see on the link below, Swedish radio recorded a 1960 perfomance and it was availible on LP. I´m not sure if i have seen that Lp, but I will grab it when i see it (Caprice records) There was also a 1973 EMI recording of excerps from that opera. Easy to find in flea markets in Sweden...

She surely enriched MY life. Her recordings were obvious first choices when i startet to listen to classical music from my home country. Rubinstein was great too in Falla, Granados and Albeniz, but he didn´t record very much of that repertoire. Gracias, Alicia.

Wonderful sympony! I have the Kajanus (world records), Ormandy (Columbia), Collins (Decca) and the first Karajan (Angel). Collins recording is the one I listen to most without being able to decide which I really prefer.

I have seen Stina Ekblad (who is listed on disc 10) perfoming on stage several times here in Stockholm. A wonderful actress. No doubt the right choice for a narrator in a Sibelius piece.

I know that BIS recorded an earlier version of VC, but it is obviously not included in the box.

Falla´s Homage to Debussy is my favorite composition for guitar. Segovia and Yepes made fine recordings of that short piece made shortly after Debussy´s death.

I have some old LP:s of Sixten Ehrling conducting Sibelius (Mercury and Capitol and HMV) I know his Mercury Series are on CD using LP copies since the original master tapes are lost or damaged.

My favorite Sibelius third is Anthony Collins on Decca/London and the old Kajanus

I have two copies of the original EMI Klemperer 7th. Just in case. Both found in flea markets in great condition. Klemperer made me appreciate this symphony more than Solti, Bernstein, Abbado or Rosbaud

I have the Leopoldo Querol recording on a Ducretet Thomson Lp and the first Larrocha on a US Columbia Lp. Both recordings are great. I will try the 1962
Larrocha when I find it on Lp. I guess it´s the one that was availible on MHS,
Epic and Hispavox.
