I believe Igor's set wasn't published on CD. I got it on copies from an Electrola/Melodiya LP box. About him, his recordings of Rakov's first, Wieniawski's 2, Khatchaturian, Bruch's 1 and Mendelssohn are IMO fantastic.

I would be very excited if I can found the unknown recordings of David Nadien, Igor Politkovsky, or the early King David in the 30s and 40s.

I'm not an Elman's fun. It's true that he had a wonderful sound, but on rich and emotional one he can't compite with Seidel nor Hassid. And on technique, he can't with Milstein and certainly never with Jascha. Besides, he had a kind of moaning style that I found unpleasant.

Grieg's second string quartet. He wrote only 2 movements. Julius Rontgen wrote the last 2 on sketches left by Grieg.

Interesting. About Brahm's hung.dances, there´s an arrangement of
Cziffra of 15 of it for solo piano, very difficult but IMO,boring. As an example
of "gypsy" like music on piano, I recommend Cziffra's own Romanian
Phantasy. About Liszt's 6th.R.R.,my favorite is Horowitz's version.

Bazzini is one of those "one work" composers, but he had six lovely SQ,
very melodic, very Italian and very well written. Instead, his short pieces
are boring

I've some recordings of him on piano and he shows a great

I've bought the RCA set in Buenos Aires in 2003, but now it has dissapear.
Probably is OOP. 0nce in a while it shows on Ebay. For any Kreisler lover,
is a must. A real historical piece is his Bach's double with Zimbalist and a SQ,
I think the very first recording of it.

About Taneyev SQ, I think only 1,2,8 and 9 are published on CD. I've the
other 5 on old Melodiya LP. The numbers are all wrong. The 8 and 9 were the
very first he composed.
