I recall that story, but had forgotten it was that many years back. I chatted with Mr. Muckey a few times on a trumpet site. He asked if I would be auditioning at St. Louis when Susan Slaughter retired. HA! Either he was being nice or joking. I could not even be hired to polish her mouthpieces...LOL

I take Ozempic for my Type 2. It really helps me control the A1C readings. I had already lost some weight to help circulation concerns. The problem I have encountered is sometimes the drug can't be acquired due to so many people getting it for weight control. That is frustrating.

I'm not in a big city. All the local beaneries around me are booming. All seem to have recovered from pandemic problems. A larger town nearby has a few 'big name' spots that have shut down. The IHOP there is not quite as good as it used to be

When I was back in High School, I recall running across a few recordings by this orchestra. Were they on Command Classics? I know of some Markevich/DG products with this orchestra.

I have done both, and still do. When I want composition X I'll check what performance/performer is available and proceed. I suppose most of us do that. I've bought a box set or two of music I wanted just because of price. I came out ok.

Yes, me too. I am suspicious of what is said/printed beyond the local news. On national/international news I sometimes check both right/left-wingy 'reports' and assume the truth is in the mid-range.

I have watched half of it and will go back to it soon. Great music in the soundtrack, of course. It seems to jump scenes too much for me, but I've gotten used to other flicks that use that method.

The first Backhaus recording I ever saw was a mono lp of a Beethoven sonata at a local record shop in my small town. I was a 9th grader. I have his LvB piano concerto recordings with Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt/VPO. They are very enjoyable.

Orchestral section tonal blends and tonal color quickly get my attention! I am also a sucker for rhythms that I find exciting. I grew up in the 50s-60s. I notice that some folx moaning about casual clothing don' t really know much regarding the look - LOL. My advice to govt' leaders, etc. is don't dress down.
