The Met did a production of Der Freischutz way back., around 1971 or the year later , conducted by. Leopold Ludwig , a respected and experienced. conductor who was perfectly at home home in this kind of repertoire . I can't recall the cast members, though . Unfortunately , the Met has never revived...

Having met you and your lovely other half, it doesn't surprise me that you would always do the right and proper thing.
