I agree that Mindru Katz was a truly great pianist. Some of his recordings are landmarks of that particular repertoire. I have a few live concerts with him, and they are amazing. Pity I never had the chance to hear him live.

Esp Karl - I wasnt surer about the Horns, actually. When I saw the NYP do it with Metha, the strings were certainly augmented (I remember about 20 1st's).
