The really wonderful Munch Berlioz Romeo and Juliet has never had wide release on CD in the US. I have it on RCA Navigator and the mastering left a lot to be desired.

Mr. hound needs to find a library that has a copy of Jonathan Valin's "The RCA Bible" (1994). It will tell him more than he ever thought he wanted to know about the history and technique of the "Living Stereo" recordings. Unfortuanately it is hard to come by.

What an incredible legacy. I had cold chills just remembering some of those recordings. His Gurrelieder is unmatched in clarity and sheer beauty. Even unlikely suspects like Wagner's Die Meistersinger Prelude and Falla's Three Cornered Hat benefit from Boulez' masterful direction.
