Totally agree, supertitles gave opera a big lift. Even here with our local opera company, Tri-Cities Opera, supertitles have brought more people to opera and they keep coming back for more.

Sometimes, if you have an opportunity, you should check out the Mahler Edition of the four Schumann Symphonies. He re-orchestrated them. A good version: Decca 478 0037, 2CDs, with Riccardo Chailly conducting the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. Be interesting to hear your comments on his Rhenish!

Got the book, "Shoot the Conductor," very enjoyable. A pity more of Brusilow's recordings have not been committed to CD though I have a few of them and plan to offer a memorial program in honour of the man. I should check my LP stock as I might have some of those recordings as well.
