I snapped up the Cziffra 40 CD set as soon as it came out and haven't regretted it. I found it for sale for about $US130 on a Japanese site so it hasn't got exorbitantly expensive yet like the Rubinstein or Horowitz. But having said that it's selling for $US534 on Amazon UK.

Win10 works well for an MS product and is probably their most stable OS ever.

You have the choice with updates of

Manual

A notification from MS with a number of choices to download.

Automatic.

I use the second option.

At work they’ve implemented the auto option and it’s a nightmare.

If Hungerford had been able to complete the 32 they might well have been considered as one of the 'ultimate' set of the LvB PS, like Annie Fischer's or Wilhelm Kempff's (mono) are today. I have all 22 plus some repeats on the KASP label.

German:

ei as in stein is pronounced as STINE

ie (as in Lieder) pronounced as LEEDER

So Dinnerstein should technically be pronounced as DinnerSTINE but I suppose you can say your name any way you want.

The first movement doesn't work for me. Ashkenazy had a reputation for being a bit of a 'basher' in his early days and it seems to be very evident here. The second and third movements are much better though the heavy hands do reappear in the finale. For me there are two Op 13s that work really well....

Can't say that I agree with virtually any of that. The exceptions are the Britten/Rostropovich Arpeggione and the Schubert String Quintet.

Some AV programs will prevent this from happening. The best at the moment appears to be Bitdefender though Norton ranked very highly as well.

I use an AV on my iMac just in case.
