Re: Most Overrated Composer?

Antonio Vivaldi (probably excluding his operas and other vocal music, though). A few years ago I bought several CDs of Vivaldi cello concertos on Naxos performed by Raphael Wallfisch and the City of London Sinfonia; the CDs were excellent. However, on reading the liner notes, I fully expected to fi...

Re: Introducing yourself thread!

but I've got a pretty broad scope, having gone as far back a Dufay and DuMachaut *** I'm familiar with the works of many lesser lights as well, such as Cherubini, Xaver-Richter, Arriaga, and Biber to name a few. Opinions on Ormandy's Brahms 3rd

I'd like to poll CMG members on this. I have available to me for purchase a full set of Ormandy's Stereo Brahms cycle on Columbia LP. I have all but the 3rd on CD. I went on a wild-goose chase two years ago and ended up with the earlier Mono LP, and sorry but I just can't tolerate mono. Anyways, now...

Hi, I'm John. I'm 33 and I live right in the middle of Boston, MA. I'm a half-breed Greek/German whose parents were born in Europe. Professionally I'm an infrastructure consultant for a large multinational financial services provider, so I spend a lot of time on the road. I am currently in Tulsa, OK...
