Latest news. Item currently unavailable. I guess someone at Amazon actually looked at the price and realized they would be losing quite a good deal of money on the Handel. Let us hope that those of us who ordered this item will still get this amazing bargain price on the Handel.

Vastly underrated maestro Conlon should have been made Music Director instead of Gilbert years ago. But he wasn't and now he is going far, far away. Sadly, he missed the gold NYP ring and has apparently ruled himself out this time...Italy's gain is America's loss. :(

The great Ernest Ansermet recorded Honegger's Le Roi David in 1957 and it is still available from Australian Eloquence in a stunning 3 CD set including the Honegger Symphonies #2,3,4 and more Honegger and Frank Martin's 'In Terra Pax'. A fabulous and authoritative trio of discs. 8)

I have collected all 28 editions of Gardiner's Bach Cantatas and it is a gem of an achievement. Highly recommended, especially since the big box is significantly cheaper. I have the 2007 edition and that will do quite nicely. I have read that the sound differences do not warrant tossing the 2007 for this latest ploy by Warners to cash in on the great Callas.
