I like RebLem's Mahler 2nd & Moussorgsky & to that I'd add the finale of Sibelius' 2nd, the opening of Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra and the finale of Respighi's Pines of Rome.

Although there are substantial cuts in #2, Ormandy's is still so gorgeous to listen to. Recommended....and I'm not even on Fanfare magazine's staff. 8)

Well, if that's (the Russian Requiem excerpt) typical of Auerbach, then I can safely pass on more of her. She makes Shostakovich seem highly modern and original. :)
