Both the McCabe concerto and Malcolm Arnold's Concerto philharmonico are well worth discovering. Great performances with Solti or haitink conducting.

AFAIK, he gets mixed reviews. But he definitely is a virtuoso of the highest calibre. Gershwin, Stravinsky, Haydn, his own compositions... A couple of years ago he even performed Jolivet's concerto in Paris. I had that on a cassette... His Cds turn up - often - in the cut out bins.... I'll keep you ...
