Hey, Congratulate Me!

Post by Corlyss_D » Mon Jul 11, 2005 11:26 pm

I just burned, or ripped, or whatever the term, my first CD!!!! I have been stymied by this technological feat for months. Now I can keep a copy in my car and not worry about losing or damaging the original.

Well, I think this belongs in the category of copying CDs, which, if I remember correctly, started here.

And, since I piped up on this subject previously, let me state that as I see it, this is one way of duplicating CDs that seem legit to me. After all, if you paid for the original and want to make a copy for your own use in the car, that should pass muster.

Happy listening - and watch out for those STOP signs - or don't they have those in Utah?

Oh, yeah, we got 'em. I'm looking into moving to Montana or North Dakota where they have no speed limits.

Let me take a guess: Handel, Monteverdi or both. :)

My HEARTIEST congratulations, Lyss! It's a snap, eh! You'll love copying things. Now if you can only find the mono/DGG Kempff Beethoven 32, you could keep the copies and send me the originals. Good thought?

What would it take to get the originals? Supposing it was a 1-year offer to acquire every Naxos EM CD (you would have to make the request to me). Now there's an offer, unless you think it's too generous and would want to cut it back to 90 days.

Interesting idea. Comparitively speaking, they don't issue enough EM CDs annually to make the offer attractive. What else ya got?

There are many fine EM discs released regularly but most only make it to a store with a big classical department like Tower in Manhattan (not Tower generically).

Is that how you keep up with them? Lance gets these catalogues from H&B. I guess I could sign up for the Naxos catalogue. Lord knows I need some more CDs, esp. in my EM collection . . .
