Takako Nishizaki - Naxos' star violinist -Help!

Post by Lance » Fri Aug 12, 2005 11:11 pm

Most everyone who collects NAXOS recordings has heard of Takako Nishizaki, their star violinist (and, I think, wife of Mr. Claus Heyman, founder of Naxos - correct me if I'm wrong). Her recording of Vivaldi's Four Seasons was a top seller of any classical recording and is still going strong.

I am trying to locate TWO of Nishizaki's PRE-Naxos recordings, both for RCA Victor. The first was only on LP (I believe) and included all three of Edvard Grieg's violin sonatas. The other was on CD, and consisted of the music of Fritz Kreisler. I have no idea who the pianist is on either disc, though the Kreisler may have orchestral accompaniments.

I am seeking copies of both of these Nishizaki recordings. Can anyone help? They are both out-of-print now.

Lance,

Why not contact her directly through her husband and see if they'll make you a copy? Tell them you need the recordings for your radio show.

Good idea to contact them directly, but you must spell his name correctly: KLAUS HEYMANN.

Good luck!

The Grieg #3 that made it to Naxos (with the Franck) is quite nice.
