mozarts requiem

Post by bruce5 » Mon Aug 15, 2005 4:52 am

I am a musicology 4 music student from Rhodes University (South Africa) and I need help with a study.

I am doing a study on the differences between how people viewed Mozarts requiem when he wrote it as opposed to now (post millenium).
I need to find out on this forum what people think of that particular piece.

many thanks.

Welcome bruce5,

As a matter of personal opinion, I love the Mozart Requiem. I have sung in it three times, and it's a wonderful experience, spiritual and sublime.

As you know, there's a lot of fascinating controversy about the history of the Requiem, which was begun by Mozart, but finished by Sussmayr.

You can find a lot of material on www.mozartforum.com

Good luck!
Teresa
