Made his debut in 1928, at a concert directed by composer Florent Schmitt;
Sung Bach's cantatas, at a concert directed by Vincent d'Indy;
Among the performers of the Swiss premiere of Stravinsky's Les Noces, conducted by Ernest Ansermet;
Part of the world premiere of Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress, with Elizabeth Schwarzkopf.
Makes his debut at the Met in 1987, alongside Placido Domingo and Eva Marton, in Puccini's Turandot, at the age of 85....
Currently lives at the Chateau de Lully, 18th century castle owned by his ancestors, with Alfred Augustin, his 64 year old partner.
For his 105th anniversary, Cuenod indicated that he would probably spend the day in bed.

Hi Joe and Piston ... I'm glad to know Hugues is still alive and kicking. Imagine being 105. I'd like to get there myself, still be able to hear great music, and have all my faculties. I wonder if he has a secret for longevity.
