Post of the Day Award to CMG's Elder Statesman.

This would have been in the thread in which he uttered those memorable words (which I hope I remembered correctly), but the thread was dumped while I was in the midst of awarding it.

I dunno, Corlyss, I'd be inclined to think that "day" is not good enough.

Post of the month, may be. Post of the year....

Anyway, thanks for rescuing a true gem. And thanks of course to Werner for crafting same.

Werner richly deserves the Post of the Day award. Congratulations!

But I would like official recognition of the fact that Werner shares Elder Stateman status with Richard Mullany.

A good point, Rob - we really have a small (select?) group of seniors here. Glad that you included Richard, from whom we've heard intermittently this year - would like to hear more. Don't know how our ages compare - not all that important, either, is it?

I can think of two other distinguished mature characters here - Cliftwood and Pizza. I've had the pleasure of meeting Harris last February at our meetup; Pizza remains an interesting source of musical information, but we part ways on Podhoretz.

And then there are all those promising mature personalities of all ages who make CMG the interesting place it is.........

That's a very gacious gesture by both of you. I know Richard would be here more if he could. However, his 168 is dwarfed by Werner's 2872. Werner's devotion and willingness and ability to put up with us, in my view, gives him the edge.
