Nancy, Druckman's piece was one of my very favorites for many years. Indeed, I suppose it still is. It's a delightful piece. So yeah, pretty much you found the perfect gift for me!

Well, the weather in Portland was cold and drizzly--which I quite like, so it was fine!
And we all went out the day before to drive around Oregon and take pictures. (My sons and their sweeties and I are all from Southern California, and we'd none of us been very far east in this state. It's quite impressive. If you like massive rock outcroppings. And we do.) It was sunny and warm that day, which is nice for taking pictures.
And while I didn't need any warning, you surely should have warned Lance about that video, Corlyss!!

Franky, that's what should happen to MOST upright pianos. They simply do not compare to a grand piano unless the grand piano is of such inferior quality (and there are some!). What surprises me is that when that piano went through the shreader, the cast iron plate has thousands of pounds of pressure thereon. Usually one would hear an "explosion" but this one went to its grave rather quietly. I wonder how a grand piano would sound going through this machine?Even worse, how would a human body hold up? Where is Edgar Allan Poe when you need him?
