This is the best performance of John Cage I've ever seen!

Haha. I should probably explain the title: "Shred" is a rock/metal slang term for playing very fast. Some fellow had the inspired notion of taking videos of well know rock and metal bands and replacing the original audio with him (I presume) playing the most awful out of tune/time garbage that you can imagine! That concept has now spread to other genres.

There's nothing funny about this. It is a smear of the artist. graffiti applied to a performance. Hopefully the people at YouTube have the good sense to remove this kind of crap.

While I agree with Donald and Werner that it is in puerile bad taste, "it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy" - Lang Lang has made himself an easy target for this kind of thing - hard to imagine them doing it to Rubinstein, Arrau or Argerich, all non-poseurs par excellence ; who knows, Krystian Zimerman might be next on their hit list (great pianist but he looks so precious and affected even though he clearly feels the music deeply)
