Don - congratulations! Two days after me and I also turned 60. May your family and friends shower you with the accolades and affirmations you richly deserve. Now I reckon that I've got at least another 40 left in me and judging from Werner longevity runs in your family so is there plenty of time for you to record that LvB Op 28 I'd like to hear?

Ah, one of our celebrated first joiners of CMG, along with the senior Isler ... it is said things are better in TWOS, but not only do we have TWO, we have THREE ISLERS, counting Mrs. Isler!
Donald, may 2012 bring you more of everything you love, even after December 21st, 2012, with the hope that the Mayan calendar AND Nostradamus are incorrect in their prophecies.

Re: Happy Birthday to Donald Isler
Many thanks, everybody, for the kind words and good wishes!
Maybe I will yet get around to recording Beethoven, Op. 28, Holden!
In addition to the still-running Today Show premiering the day I was born someone else who was something of a celebrity for awhile besides Maureen Dowd was born then - Sydney Biddle Barrows, the "Mayflower Madam!"
It was nice, on RebLem's interesting list, to be reminded of Nina Totenberg, apparently my senior by eight years, whose commentary on the doings of the Supreme Court I enjoy hearing on National Public Radio. I remember her father, the violinist, Roman Totenberg, from my years studying at the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival in Blue Hill, Maine. He was still teaching there last summer, and recently turned 101!

Re: Happy Birthday to Donald Isler
A belated Happy Birthday, Donald one of CMG's most knowledgeable and articulate members. May you have many, many more.
I too was taken with Reblem's birthday list. I had never before connected Ben Heppner with LL Cool J.
