Argerich and Lang Lang duet!

Post by hangos » Fri Mar 16, 2012 11:54 am

I never thought I would ever see these two very different pianists sit together on one stool .... but here they are playing Ravel's Mother Goose suite!

Enjoy (if you can bear to watch the "exquisite" grimaces of Bang Bang!)

I surely enjoyed that hangos. Thanks. I would not have found that on my own.

Nice! Despite Lang Lang's epic guitar faces, I enjoyed that quite a bit! Good find. (And early find!)

Cheers, Greg and Garrett - it's nice to be thanked like that. I get daily emails form youtube whenever any "new" videos of Argerich appear - most of them are ancient and have been on youtube for years, but the occasional gem does surface now and then!
Lang Lang certainly seems deferential, as if he knows his place in the grand scheme of things (I couldn't imagine Pogorelich being so deferential, even though Martha fought his corner in Warsaw in 1980!)

There was a video of them on-line at Verbier a couple of years ago...which also included a video of about eight top-ten hot shot piano players playing - I think - the Hexameron...

With the sound on, you'd have been impressed.

Despite Lang's facial expressions, this clip was thrilling to watch. Thanks for the presentation. Like others, I probably would have never seen this if it were not for thee!

You're welcome - what a double act! It's not often you get a comedian (however unwitting) playing the piano so well! Martha certainly looks amused too

Martin,

What a musical feast. I greatly enjoyed the primo part played by the sublime Ms. Argerich and the secondo part played by

the expressive Lang Lang. I was enchanted by their performance.

Thank you so much for the unexpected musical Ravel treat, my friend.

Regards,
