Hey everyone!!
It's J.S. Bach's birthday, today.
And Modeste Mussorgsky's.
And your very own some guy's.
It's true.

Re: Birthdays
How could I possibly have forgotten someguy's birthday? Easy to forget the others mentioned but SOMEGUY! So, in celebration of his birthday, I just played the first-ever release of the CONTEMPORARY version of the Happy Birthday Variations by none other than composer/conductor JOHN WILLIAMS! [Sony 94253 if you're interested). In the meantime, thank you for reminding us about these birthdays, especially yours.
We trust your special day is filled with 24 hours of your favourite contemporary composers' music.
MANY HAPPY RETURNS to one great guy!

Re: Birthdays
Happy Birthday is the only thing I can play at the piano (or organ) without having the music in front of me, always in the key of F (I am sorry to say there is no YouTube of the rendition). I had to learn it because we sang it back at the Maryland church every time someone in the big choir had a birthday that week. (They forgot mine once and it was actually on the Sunday.)
Well, anyway, it's not my day, but some guy's (of course, it's always some guy's birthday, so why... oh do shut up John) so happy birthday, Michael!

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

Re: Birthdays
Thank you all kindly!
(That picture, just by the way, is not of me. I look MUCH older. I found it by typing "sad birthday" at the google prompt and choosing "images." This was the first funny one I found. So I chose it. Because I'm lazy. Plus, it's my birthday. I can do what I want! Now if only the Lakers could win today's game.
Go LAKERS!!)

Happy birthday,someguy!
Just think, in pure birthday terms you are 4 days older than Bartok and Boulez (who share 25th March)
