You'll never guess how I caught Rodelinda

Or half an hour of it, anyway, with apologies in advance to Lenny Goran for the fact that it was not by tuning in at home and giving it my undivided attention at the appointed time.

I got a flat tire on the way to church in the town of Warrensburg (where I play the organ for those who do not know). Incredibly, considering the route between my home and the church, I was able to park the car safely in the parking lot of another church, walk for 20 minutes, and still arrive in plenty of time. Afterwards, a parishioner returned me to my car, where I called AAA, there being cell phone service in that town though not in Stony Creek. The guy who came happens to own the local classy garage and offered actually to replace my tire even though he had to open up the garage for me on a Sunday to do it (obviously he was making a sale but I still find that extraordinary). He invited me to sit in the waiting room with a nice TV, and by channel surfing, lo and behold, I found Rodelinda.

I said you wouldn't guess it. :D

Oh yeah: Great opera.

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

What a splendid Handel opera. Renee Fleming should make you all happy:

For what happened to you and how you watched it no apology is needed--however if you had watched it the above way then an apology would be in order! The correct decorum is to program the DVR for the show, then sit down and watch it whenever you want to--as an added bonus make a tape of what's on the DVR--then you can delete from the DVR to save DVR space. Regards, Len :)

How charitable! Do you ever condescend to play the organ for sentient people? Or do you perform just for the unfortunates in the wilderness?

I wondered if anyone would take note of my omission of the comma. I noticed it myself and decided not to fix it because the unintended meaning is too funny, if unfair to the people of that congregation, who appreciate me (note how that last comma made a difference too). :)
