Remarkable music-remarkable pianist

When you have one hour and twenty-two minutes to spare, sit back and watch and listen to one of the world's greatest interpreters of JS Bach play the entire French Suites, BWV 812-817 in a live performance that is totally mesmerizing.

Schiff is certainly in my top five list of favorite pianists.

Yes, for Bach he's excellent, also for Schubert.......

And just for the record (no pun intended), who are the other four?

I'd be hard-pressed in this day & age to limit myself to ten

Uchida
Schiff
Kempf
Van Cliburn (early)
Horowitz
Alicia De Larrocha
Maria Tipo
Solomon
Samson Francois
Feltsman
Rubinstein (Chopin)

and so on........just off the top of my head.

I agree, Schiff's Bach is beautiful.

You and I are fortunate to have heard him in some remarkable recitals in Philadelphia.

Schiff is a great and sensitive artist. I have his first Bach '48' from Decca and love it. 8)

I love Schiff's Bach. I have his recording of the English Suites on Decca. It's wonderful.

Other (living) Bach interpreters I admire are Murray Perahia and Angela Hewitt.
