Werner Isler on CMG, some interesting facts

[Lance]

The late WERNER ISLER, our eldest member and so designated, joined CMG on Wednesday, March 30, 2005. (He passed on March 15, 2013 at age 91.) Werner made his last post on Saturday, December 15, 2012 (excluding the whole year of posts we lost that were not salvageable). Werner held 19th position out of 940 CMG registrants, posting 4,223 items. (It was probably close to 5,000 or more if we didn't have that loss.) This is quite an accomplishment for a man in his 80s and 90s! We will truly miss him on our board and his love and exuberance of great music.

Very interesting to read these stats about Dad's participation here on CMG, Lance! Thanks for posting them. He enjoyed being involved with CMG, and his friends here very much.

I think it is equally significant, if not more so, that Werner never made a gratuitous or insensitive post. Every post of his contributed significantly to some discussion, and frequently offered a unique and important insight.

Werner was a lovely man and always treated people with courtesy and respect. I always admired his eloquence, I feel privileged to have shared this board with Mr Werner Isler and his son Donald.

I will add my compliments to a well-deserved list for Werner. I will say again, I am sad that I never got to meet him in person. I had planned to attend the CMG meet-up in NY a few years back, and ended up not getting there due to flight cancellations from inclement weather between here and there. My loss! I admired his posts on CMG--in fact, can't think of a one that wasn't eloquently written.
