What? A birthday?
Lance! What are you doing? Don't you know these things start to add up?
Some things it's good to collect: records, CDs, friendships, bank accounts ...
But birthdays!
For God's sake, man, slow down before it's too late. Believe me. Once you're over the brink there's no coming back. Stop this birthday nonsense immediately. I'm tellin' you. No good comes from it. I'm evidence to that point.
I stopped having birthdays thirty years ago ... and I haven't felt better.

But if you're so foolish as to continue on, then have a good one. Maybe listen to some George Szell recordings today.

Thanks for all the great work in keeping up this site and happy B-day!

Birthday lauds to Lance our leader.

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

Many thanks for all the good wishes! It was, indeed, a very happy birthday. As long as they keep coming, I'll be happy about it. I know I owe quite a few people some correspondence (Donald Isler for one), but I must tell you this has been probably the busiest season I have EVER had with regard to doing piano work for so many functions, concerts, etc. The winter played huge havoc with pianos and they still haven't settled down. I am behind with reviews and spending time on CMG, but be assured, I keep watch! Thank you for your patience with me. I am always available to keep things smooth, friendly, and quiet, so feel free to send me a private message at any time. Again, a huge THANK YOU for remembering the day I came into existence! And I am a "true" Gemini, too!

Believe-it-or-not, I'm STILL celebrating. My daughter has arranged for me to have a HUGE party at a major restaurant here with lots of musicians present, this on July 1st. I must say, however, that once you get to a certain age with birthdays, it becomes LESS exciting as the years climb. (You know the feeling, I'm sure!!!) :( As is often said, having birthdays is better than the alternative.

7/2: Update: It was a wonderful success. Lovely memories.

In that case, I can skip the participle belated, and just with you a happy birthday!

Happy Birthday, Lance.

Ordinarily, I post some kind of card, but when I saw Sean's at the beginning of this thread, I knew I couldn't compete with it, so I didn't try.
