Or Chalkie. BBC 4 at 22:30 UCT today, 9 August, or 5:30 PM Eastern daylight time is showing a life retrospective on the work of Chalkie Davies.

I assumed this has aired before as I have viewed it on the BBC iplayer. But CMGers might find the following link of interest.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05xd4yv

Although you need a VPN to view the entire program, the link has video clips and a photo gallery that should work in the USA and elsewhere.

(Please let me know if the link works from the US; it does work from Canada.)

Thank you! Indeed, I was able to open up the site and spent some time there. CONGRATS, Chalkie!

Well done, chalkperson! My time with rock music was a bit earlier than yours (the Sex Pistols are later than my teenage years, so I had lost interest by then), but I do remember an all-night concert by Hot Tuna that blew me away in my early twenties, believe it or not.

Hot Tuna was a side project for two of the guitarists of Jefferson Airplane. A check on wiki shows that, after 46 years, the band is still active and still includes the two founding member. Lots of 'Hot Tuna' on youtube. Thanks for the nostalgia trigger; they are a band I haven't heard or thought about since back in the day.
