This is a stunningly beautiful edition and tribute to Vladimir Horowitz. I thought long and hard about this one but am very happy to have it. The box is a coffee table setup with a marvelous multi-language book covering four sections with 25 CDs in each port. As always, there is a lot of repetitive material from recital-to-recital, including many encores. All is very well documented and I shall begin to listen to the CDs one-by-one as time allows. This is a wonderful sequel to the deluxe Carnegie Hall box that Sony issued a while back. Highly recommended ... especially for Horowitz fans!

I'll buy this one, but it may be awhile before I can work it into the budget. I'm very curious to hear what people think of Carnaval. It's the major addition here to the Horowitz recorded repertoire, but it comes from that period when Horowitz was not playing at his best.
