Some of the tweets are even more bathetic than failing Donald Trump's.

I had forgotten Donald in "Pomp and Circumstance", rehearsing Friday 1/20's festivities.

One can only wish that a president might take such an interest in classical music to bother writing tweets, silly or otherwise, about it.

One composer who the real Donald Trump singles out for praise, interestingly enough, is Steve Reich. His book Think Like a Champion contains the following passage
Donald Trump wrote:I remember reading about a composer named Steve Reich who came up with a new idea called phasing, which is like windshield wipers going in and out of synch. Apparently he was caught in a traffic jam one rainy day and the rhythm of the windshield wipers caught his attention and he applied what he heard to his musical compositions. He has had a significant influence on contemporary music, and I think he’s a great example of an innovator. Sometimes new ideas can come from something as mundane and functional as your windshield wipers. The key is to pay attention and keep your brain and senses open to new stimuli.
Not that he's heard any of Reich's music, though. He just remembers reading about Reich's music. I guess you have to give him credit for reading something, though.

BTW, I have not read Trump's book myself. The above information comes from this article:

Trump can't have written that himself - he's not capable of it. Meredith McIver, Trump's longtime speech writer, is credited as a "contributor" to "Think Like a Champion"; she's infamous for having written the speech Melania Trump read at the convention that plagiarized from Michelle Obama. McIver is a former ballerina who had danced under Balanchine, so she knew about classical music as I'm sure Trump does not.

With no information at all, I firmly believe that at the very least, McIver ghost-wrote the entire book with input from Trump, how much and at what stage is unknown. Or she may have concocted the whole thing, relying on her previous writings for Trump and other material already out there. Whatever, it's surely she who contributed the "classy" bit about Steve Reich, whom Trump had surely never heard of until he checked what she had written, if he did - we know how careless he is about such things.

Yes, I would be suspicious about Trump's authorship of any book, and the article mentions that he ususally uses ghost writers.

On the other hand, given his predilection for authoritarianism I can see how the name Reich would make his antennae perk up.

Well, it seems to have slowed down...currently at 6,241 shares.  I've also been told that people have been seeing it shared without attribution to me. Even made its way over to Reddit. Damn thieves. :P

But hey...does this make it the most popular Baroque music meme OF ALL TIME!? :D

Ah, good times.
