The Young Artists and Summer Internship Programs
The Glimmerglass Young Artists Program is universally regarded as one of the finest programs
in the country for emerging singers, pianists, conductors and stage directors. Singers advance their
skills by performing in the Festival’s acclaimed and wide-ranging seasonal repertory while guided
by prominent guest master teachers and the company’s annual Artist in Residence:
Deborah Voigt (2011) Eric Owens (2012, 2015) Julie & Nathan Gunn (2013)
Christine Goerke (2014) Jay Hunter Morris (2016) William Burden (2017)
For young professionals pursuing careers behind the scenes, the Festival’s Summer Internship
Program provides exceptional training for students and recent graduates in theater production and arts
administration. More than 1,200 apprentices apply annually for the 100 positions in both programs.
