Deborah Borda, who has been president and CEO of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since 2000, is leaving that orchestra and is returning to the same job at the New York Philharmonic, which she had previously held in the 1990s. This is not good news for Los Angeles; she did a great job there, notwithstanding the hire of Dudamel (as most of you know, I am not his biggest fan). We will see what this means for New York.
