Milton & [Classical] Music

Post by IcedNote » Fri Mar 17, 2017 12:24 pm

Came across this essay and thought it'd be of interest to many of you. Yes, it's about the poetry of Milton, but it's specifically about classical (little "c") music's influence on him/it.

(Not worth copying/pasting because there's a lot of formatting of both text and layout...because poetry.)

Harakiried composer reincarnated as a nonprofit development guy.

Very interesting - thanks for finding it. Strange, that there's no mention of Milton's "L'Allegro" and "Il Penseroso," which Handel actually set to music, but even so there's plenty to think about.
