Yesterday, it was announced that Argentine pianist Ingrid Fliter was cancelling her U.S. tour due to family reasons, and thus, would not appear at her May 10 recital in Philadelphia. In her place, Israeli pianist Inon Barnatan would perform that evening.
I'm planning to go to this recital in any case, but does anyone here have any experience with Barnatan?

I like his Schubert very much, but his other recordings only get 4 stars on amazon. Fliter is amazing in Chopin, and her Beethoven ain't bad either. Sorry she had to cancel: she's a great artist.
I'm curious: what was on her program, do you know?

Fliter's program would have been Beethoven and Chopin! Specifically, two Beethoven Sonatas (Op. 10, No. 3 and the Appassionata) and the 24 Chopin Preludes.
Barnatan's program is certainly different but interesting:
Handel: Chaconne in G Major, HWV 435
Schubert: Sonata in C Minor, D. 958
Ligeti: Musica Ricercata
Brahms: Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel, Op. 24

Barnatan is certainly less well-known than Fliter, but he might be a new discovery for both of us. I certainly hope you attend, and report your findings here. Also, maybe the recital will make it to youtube, so we can all watch it. Do keep us informed!
