I have a 2CD set of Pavarotti singing the title role back in the 1960's in London(?) that does nicely for when I want to hear this opera without all his affectations in the 1980's MET telecast that was released on videocassette (partnered by John Alexander who outsang Pavarotti by a mile, IMHO.).
