Here is an interesting album make-up, all Russian material collectively entitled "Russian Light" with Olga Peretyatko accompanied by the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra under Dmitry Liss's baton. This, I believe, is her third recital recorded by Sony. A complilation of material by Glinka, Rimsky-Korsakov, Rachmaninoff (songs), Stravinsky, and Shostakovich seems to be a unique lineup.

Re: A new Olga Peretyatko (soprano) CD [Sony]
The only recording I have with Peretyako (is she Ukranian?) is the above Rossini set, and it is highly recommended. Russian opera doesn't always go over big in the U. S. but this one looks like a winner, especially the Mad Scene (here listed as Marfa's aria) from Rimsky's "The Tsar's Bride,' which was modeled on Puccini's writing after the composer saw La boheme and was deeply moved. Thanks for the recommendation, Lance!
