Warner Classics 58316, 3 CDs.

A note from the back of the boxed set: "As in so many memorable seasons past, Martha Argerich has gathered her favourite artistic collaboratos--from her own and younger generations--for this farewell edition of the Lugano-based summertime Festival that bears her name. The 15th installment was perhaps the most exciting ever, featuring a rare solo appearance by the woman of the hour in the vivid dreamscape of Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit. Argerich and cohorts explore two-piano treats from Mozart, Debussy and Falla, along with concertange music by Beethoven, Ravel and Berg. In prominent roles, too , are her renowned violinist friends, Renaud Capucon, [...] Tedi Papavrami [...]. And to conclude, the customary nod to the pianist's native Argentina from a tango ensemble led by composer-banoneonista Marcelo Nisinman."

Argerich, now 75, has announced this, the fifteenth in a series of famous Lugano Live concerts began by EMI, taken over by Warner Classics, will be her final endeavor in this wonderful project featuring here and other celebrated friends and musicians. I guess everything eventually comes to an end. However, he have superb documentation of all these concerts. A big addition to her own discography is the inclusion of Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, Op. 80 with her at the piano. Another is Busoni's Violin Concerto in D, Op. 35a with Renaud Capucon, violin and Vedernikov leading the Orchestra of of Svizzera Italiana. Many other great items in this 3-CD set.

When she started to play, Mr. Steinway came down and personally
