Deborah Borda New York Philharmonic Interview

Post by lennygoran » Fri May 11, 2018 1:41 pm

I enjoyed this week's NYC Arts from Thirteen PBS

"A conversation with Deborah Borda, President and CEO of the New York Philharmonic, as she takes the helm of this world-renowned orchestra." Regards, Len

Lenny, enjoyed hearing this. Borda sounds like a classy lady who knows what she's talking about.

Thanks Len, for posting this. Borda is a visionary with some excellent ideas ($5 tickets!). .......And now I know how to pronounce Jaap Van Zweden! :D

I have a lot of respect for Ms. Borda and think that she did a great job in Los Angeles. She has her work really cut out for her in New York, especially with the stodgy, snoozeworthy programming apparently favored by van Zweden. She had better get Esa-Pekka Salonen seriously involved with the orchestra, while dealing with a board that seemingly wants to cater for a segment of the audience for whom Carl Nielsen is dangerously radical.
