On first hearing, not works to be consumed complete, seriatim, suggest start with the 19 Preludes. None of the works made an initial impression nearly as strong as my first encounter with Rautavaara's solo piano music (pianist Tateno on Ondine cd ) .

I did listen to YT's of Aho's Clarinet Concerto , Symphonies 2 and 15 , and enjoyed all especially the 2nd Sym and Concerto.

Heard today his 2 piano concertos, BIS cd's on YouTube.PC # 1, as with the solo piano works, probably requires re-hearings to fairly judge, but the more lyrical PC # 2 was attractive on first hearing, paired on the cd with his Symphony # 13,the symphony not at YT. Not yet on my wish - list, but another definite re-hearing planned :
