From Australia: a new book on pianist Eileen Joyce

Arrived yesterday, kind of pricey for a paperback edition at around $50/$55 USD, which includes post from Australia published by Lyrebird Press/University of Melbourne (200 pages). The book is called Destiny: The Extraordinary Career of Pianist Eileen Joyce by David Tunley, Victoria Rogers, and Cyrus Meher-Homji (the latter a name we know from his productions of CDs). Many photographs included. It's a good read and explains a lot about the pianist, who was a first-class workhorse on stage, in the recording studio, and in films. She was known for her colourful gowns, changed at the interval. She was also an extraordinarily attractive woman who brought a lot of joy to music lovers in Australia, England and elsewhere. Decca Eloquence recently issued all her Parlophone, EMI, Decca, and late Saga recordings in one big box, including previously unissued material. This isn't the first book on Eileen Joyce. Richard Davis also wrote a book, Eileen Joyce: A Portrait, which I've had for quite a few years. Near as I know right now, the new book is only available from Australia directly, not Amazon/USA (yet).
