I have followed these pianists and what I perceive to be growth in their artistry. If not usually presenting “ profound “ works or plumbing too many “ depths “ ( probably wise at their age to avoid “Hammerklavier”, “ Goldberg” , etc. ) , the playing is almost always refreshingly unaffected, natural, committed,with a good degree of spontaneity, programs, as this one , an interesting mix.The Smit piece very fine, my first hearing ; fine Bartok Sonata .
