In addition to the Ilmari Hannikainin PC posted earlier today, do these works deserve their obscurity ? I think not ; my first hearings today :
Leo Ornstein’s Piano Concerto ( 1925 ) :

Larysa Kuzmenko’s Piano Concerto No.1 ( 1996 ) :

Anna Kuzina’s Piano Concerto ( 2006 ) :

Vitezslava Kapralova’s Piano Concerto ( 1935 ) :

3 are ladies.Ticket sales, of course , too . Too bad we can’t have “ craft concertos “ as we do craft beer ( which I also support ! ). While the above are no “ Emperors”, they are not Tchaikovsky-Lite ( or Bud Lite ) , either.

Irrelevantly, I have known two people in my life, both wonderful fellows, named Soukup (generally pronounced by English speakers SOO-cup).Rach3 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 11, 2018 3:31 pmOne more to hear, a guilty pleasure :

Sorry, Rach3, but that seems like a lot of noise to me. On the other hand, since before you became a member I've been doing the same thing with violin concertos. Go figure.
There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.
