FWW .These are not the “ best “ work of each composer Mompou, Bowen, and Lourie, but may be a useful brief introduction to their solo piano works

Re: Small solo piano works of Mompou,Lourie,Bowen
I am certainly aware of Federico Mompou's music and have been aware of it for a long time. It seems to be making its way into recitals and recordings much more frequently these days (Stephen Hough, Martin Jones, De Larrocha, Volodos, Earl Wild, Magda Tagliaferro, and many others). Even Mompou, himself, has even committed his piano music (and vocal music) to discs. Not so sure of Lourie and Bowen, however.

Re: Small solo piano works of Mompou,Lourie,Bowen
I first learned the name of Mompou in college, and it was because my also very musical roommate thought his name so funny. Though it is not pronounced exactly the same, it is close enough to "mon poux" (my louse) to be quite hilarious. Just saying, and not criticizing Rach3 for his post.
There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.
