Clearly, B&N's "expert booksellers" have never heard of classical music. I've also recently bought Charles Rosen's "Romantic Poets, Critics, and Other Madmen." What will B&N's expert booksellers make of that?

Good grief! Another reason why B&N is failing!

At least when I visit a web page for a classical CD on amazon, I get follow-up (automated, I'm sure!) emails trying to sell me the item if I don't buy it at first.

Well John, relatively speaking, nobody has ever heard of classical music. I know for a perfect fact based on my teaching that kids can get interested in it. They are just not willing to admit it in front of their friends. Children need no incentive to be interested in music. It comes automatically. I get all my talent, such as it is, from my father's side of the family, and as odd as it may sound, I have a nearby cousin about my own age who had his two sons late in life, and I still encounter them at the high school from which my father graduated in 1945. I have hopes for them, for they are both of great potential.

As for B&N, it is still the only brick-and-mortar bookstore around here (in the outskirts of Saratoga Springs, when the downtown Borders, far superior, went out of business years ago.) It is from them that I bought my Nook, which I have mentioned before. It is still possible to get pretty much any book still in print through that medium.
