The Vienna State Opera performs operas and ballets on Sundays and has done for a long time, maybe forever. (As the article says, other opera companies do too.) Today at 6pm local time it will be "La Traviata," ending at about 8:30 with only one intermission.

I must say the cast and conductor aren't impressive, though one never knows whether a completely unknown singer might be the Callas or Caruso of tomorrow. But the point is that even in as religious a city as Vienna (Catholic), performing opera is not thought to be a violation of the Sabbath.
