Sony's "Kismet" with an all star cast
Issued in 1991, while moving CDs around and putting new acquisitions in numerical order, I rediscovered my copy of Sony SK-46438 of Kismet. The all-star cast included Samuel Ramey, Julia Migenes, Jerry Hadley, Ruth Ann Swenson, Mandy Patinkin, Dom DeLouis. I almost forgot about this work of an Arabian night with music and lyrics by Robert Wright and George Forrest, based on Alexander Borodin's music. The London Symphony orchestra was led by Paul Gemignani. How many remember this one?

I don't have that set, Lance, but I remember the version below vividly from my youth, directed by Vincent Minelli, who also did Gigi and An American in Paris very successfully. The DVD edition of this masterful film only came out in 2016......a long wait for those of us who love the musical.
