Danacord's 2017 Rarities at Schloss vor Husum out!

Danacord 799
Rarities of Piano Music, Husum Festival, 2017

I have faithfully added each one, year-by-year from the beginning. This series always follows by a year after each festival. It does not present the entire festival's music but highlights featuring many pianists. This edition, which just arrived, doesn't seem to have a photo of the light blue cover but looks otherwise identical to all the other issues.

Pianists include Antonio Pampa-Baldi, Emile Naoumoff, Sutu Paavola, Marc-André Hamelin (who seems to appear every other year), Lukas Geniusas, Daniel Berman, Vincenzo Maltempo, Nadejda Vlaeva, and Misha Dasic. Included, as usual, is some very rare repertoire by Czerny, Poulenc/Pampa-Baldi, Gabriel Dupont, Bellini/Thalberg, Chopin/Godowsky/Hamelin, Hindemith, Wagner, Leonid Desjatnikov, Chasins, Grainger, Green/Wild/Berman, Dmitri Blagoy, Misha Levitzki, Vladimir Drazdov, Arno Babadjanian, Filkret Amirow, and Dolina/Ziegler.

I note that some of these Danacord issues from the past are not easily available and costs for these discs is skyrocketing. One wonders if Danacord will one day issue them as a complete set, particularly if they bring the festival's days to an end.
