A new work for me , listening right now to the YT of the youthful Bartok Quintet with pianist Esther Park live at a Norfolk, VA, USA, festival in 2014 (? ).Sounds great so far.

Here is a review by the New York Times of a 1973 performance by the Juilliard Quartet and pianist Beveridge Webster :

Reminds me also a bit of the Franck,Vierne,Chausson.

A more recent perfomnce. Apparently written ca.1903 just after his graduation from the Budapest Liszt Academy. You’d be forgiven thinking initially it may also be by Strauss or Mahler.A bit longish for the material, but again worth the hearing.
