I've been surveying my recordings of New York-born ALAN FEINBERG in preparation for a future radio broadcast (or two). He is in a unique position among pianists in that his performances and recordings pair old music with new. He seems to be successful with that approach, more so than other pianists. Some years ago, the Argo (under British Decca) released a series of LPs, all of which found their way to CD. One of them, "The American Virtuoso," contains music of Gottschalk, Amy Beach, Gershwin, MacDowell, Fauré/Grainger, Grainger, Carreno, and Wodehouse and appears in Decca's 55-CD boxed set, The Piano Edition. Others discs took similar titles. He has recorded Bach, Don Gillis, Babbitt, and many others.
My question: So - why don't we hear more from him?

Re: Alan Feinberg, pianist
He's the wrong Feinberg. Have many or any of Samuil Feinberg's recordings made it to CD?

Samuil Feinberg recorded a great deal of Bach, ikncluding both books of the Well Tempered Clavier. Haven't heard them as they weren't at the Four Contginents Book Store of ancient memory.
