Vincenzo Bellini's Masses

Post by Lance » Fri Jan 18, 2019 11:14 am

Rarely do I hear anyone talking about this great master's masses. I recently received a recording on Italy's Nuova Era label CD [224175] entitled "Due Messe 'Catanesi' (1818" with soloists, chorus and orchestra. No time to hear the disc yet, but am anticipating something special. Anyone know about this part of his musical life? That label offers several CDs pertaining to this repertoire.

When she started to play, Mr. Steinway came down and personally
rubbed his name off the piano. [Speaking about pianist &*$#@+#]
