Lars Vogt plays( and conducts ! ) Brahms' PC # 2 live

Apart from the novelty, a very fine performance, one of the “ best “ scherzo movs. I’ve heard. Don’t recall hearing many, if any, performances in which an encore was played after this Concerto, certainly not with the cellist. I had not heard a lot of Vogt’s playing earlier, did not connect much with what I did hear, but this performance glad I heard even though I was initially attracted by the novelty ; will have to follow Vogt more often. Lars Vogt conductor/piano
Royal Northern Sinfonia

Handel Concerto Grosso Op.6 No.7
Brahms (arr. Rubbra for orchestra) Handel Variations

Interval : Vogt plays Brahms Op.117 complete (recording )

Marsey, The Sea
Brahms Piano Concerto No.2

Encore: Vogt and the cellist play second mov. from Brahms Cello Sonata No.2

These same forces apparently also played the Brahms PC # 1 earlier this season, Vogt again conducting and playing.

I did not find a Vogt recording of either Brahms piano concerto at Amazon-US.
